AMBUE ARI
Galleria Saskia, Tampere 20.09. - 09. 10.2024
Parque Ambue Ari is a wildlife sanctuary in the Bolivian Amazon founded by the NGO Comunidad Inti Wara Yassi (CIWY). Ambue Ari means “another day” in Guarayo, the indigenous language native to the area. CIWY’s work is dedicated to wildlife conservation, specialising in the rescue, rehabilitation and care of wildlife that has fallen victim to illegal trafficking, wildfires and other harm. Volunteers from around the globe contribute to the daily operations of the sanctuaries and support CIWY’s vision for a world in which wildlife can thrive in its natural habitat, free from the dangers of poaching and the destruction of its ecosystems.
The works in the exhibition carry the marks of love and grief, through photographs and installations in synergy with natural remnants: From plants and branches to an array of photos on handmade paper, an image woven in textile and portraits fading on the surfaces of leaves.
Waway
Pori, Poriginal Gallery | 26.06. - 14.07.2024
This photographic series emerged from my personal experiences at the Bolivian wildlife sanctuary Ambue Ari. Through the story of the night monkey Waway, the exhibition explores topics of loneliness, care and companionship in beyond-human worlds.
Hegemonia Saliva with Amy Gelera
Helsinki, Nuoret 2023 (Young Artists), Photographic Gallery Hippolyte | 05.05 - 28.05.2023
In the Nuoret 2023 exhibition, artists Amy Gelera and Dominik Fleischmann continue their visual dialogue Hegemonia Saliva, where they critically engage with topics around human colonisation and the domination of nature. The photo/video installation on the wall is opposed by a calm reading nook presenting two handmade zines and Amy Gelera’s academic research on the colonisation of visual culture and the oppressive influence of stock photography.
Hegemonia Saliva (2021-2023) | Multi-Media Installation: video animation, framed photographs (birch, barbed wire, asphalt, glue, museum glass), artificial grass, gravel, chairs, handmade zines (banana paper).

FEVER
Berlin. neurotitan gallery. 19.11. - 10.12.2022.
In their exhibition Fever, the art collective Ways of Knowing presents new works revolving around the body and how it relates to the world through sensations.
Jo Hislop (UK), Dominik Fleischmann (GER), celine s diaz (COL/GER) and Sidonie Ronfard (FR), reconcile their experiences through interdisciplinary art approaches. Using the term fever in its multiple interpretations, the artists draw out a map of sensations binding each piece to articulate the sensing/feeling body, either in contact with other beings, other humans, with itself or with Nature from which they gain a deeper sense of connection.
Through installations with photography and video, the artists convey individual universes that speak for and with the collective experience that we are sharing and that entwine us inseparably.
Ways of Knowing
Tampere, Taidekeskus Mältinranta | 02.04. - 19.04.2022
The exhibition binds the web of experience and the body’s mediation with the materialised expression through art. This bond opens possibilities in processing our connections, with ourselves and the world around us.
The Helsinki-based art collective Ways of Knowing: Jo Hislop, Sidonie Ronfard, celine s diaz and Dominik Fleischmann, challenges habitual perceptions of the bodily dimension of our lives by awarding it prominence in its relation to the world.
